Happy
New Year to you all. It's 2003! Incredible! It is just absolutely incredible how time seems
to pass by in fifth gear with our foot on the accelerator. I lifted my quarter glass of Cotes du Rhone when the clock struck midnight.
On a personal note, I am happy that
it is a new year. A new year brings new dreams and hope. In a way, it is like having a new
beginning. December 31st was one of the worst days if not the worst day in my life. So, what
can I say? I am happy 2002 is over. Dave, Trisha, Baptiste, Chino - Thanks for everything.
I won't forget. Well this is an interesting year for me as I am about to embark upon
another decade in my life. I sense that good things are ahead. No I am not dilusional, I know
that with the good comes beaucoup de bad. Without the bad we would not call this state of being "life."
To those who departed this life in 2002, may their souls rest in peace and may those left
behind bring honor to their memories. Hassan, Ms. Amy, the Johnsons and others hang in there.
Life goes on.
We are all here for you.
I now wish you all again many more fun moments in 2003. The format here has
changed and it's no longer a monthly. Just check back often and look for updates.
We will try to keep things dated and that way you will have a timeframe for what you
are reading. Now big up to all massive. Nuff respect!. One love. Dwight

"Writing
with the Spirits of Nature"
By Stephen E. Jordan, II
"Nature is
but an image or imitation of wisdom, the last thing of the soul; nature being a thing
which doth only do, but not know." ---Plotinus
Every night before I go to bed I rest on my stomach. I hold a pen in my hand and press it
onto a sheet of paper. I do not begin writing instantly, I simply wait. I wait for the
inspiration and the feelings. I wait for the leaves, the grass, the sweet air and the
sunlight to take over my soul and write for me-and they do, indeed. The Spirits of Nature
guide my hand with their own penmanship and write in an extremely simple and free-minded
style. CONTINUE |
Yad TIDBITS
Ok so whats' up with the Salvation Army
refusing that $100,000 donation from a Florida Lotto winner because it came from gambling.
Is the Salvation Army serious? Well Mr. David L. Rush, I am a poor black law student in
need and i won't even take the entire $100,000. i will settle for a half even a quarter.
Please call me up dear Sir.
At least the Habitat for Humanity and the Rotary Club of Marco Island had the good sense
to accept Mr. Rush's donations of $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
"Everybody has a right to be sanctimonious if they want to be," said Rush. "I respect
the Salvation Army's decision. I do not agree with it, but that is their prerogative." He
said he has been giving money to the Salvation Army for 40 years.
Rush sees the lottery, which has raised billions for Florida schools, as something other
than a typical gambling organization.
"There's no bigger gamble than investing in the stock market," said Rush, a financial
adviser. "For them to say this is gambling is an overstatement."
