Bill sat alone in the hospital room at his dying wife's beside. It was difficult to hear her above the many life sustaining devices, as her voice was little more than a hoarse whisper.

"Bill darling," she breathed. "I've got a confession to make before I go... I ... I'm the one who took the $10,000 from your safe in the house ... I spent it on a fling with your best friend Jimmy. And it was I who forced your mistress to leave the community in utter disgrace. I'm afraid I also was the one who reported you to the IRS for income tax evasion..."

"That's all right dearest; don't even give it a second thought." said Bill. "I have a small confession too. I'm the one who poisoned you."

A doctor, an engineer, and a politician were arguing as to which profession was older.

"Well," argued the doctor, "without a physician mankind could not have survived, so I am sure that mine is the oldest profession."

"No," said the engineer, "before life began there was complete chaos, and it took an engineer to create some semblance of order from this chaos. So engineering is older."

"But," chirped the triumphant politician, "who created the chaos?"

Still Searching For Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction

Dwight Day Finally, people and many in the media are waking up and asking the tough questions of the Bush administration. Questions that before Operation Freedom Iraq, would amount to treason. Where are these alleged WMD that made Saddam such an imminent threat? Until these WMD are found the rest of the world will remain skeptical of the US's reason for going to war with Iraq. President Bush would have seemingly taken his revenge at the expense of the American people. There has been much talk lately about Iran and its host of Al Queda, but we need to mop up one problem before moving on to another. Well I am off studying for my upcoming BAR exam, so if the site is bare this month, please pardon me.

UK rules out euro for now
Gordon Brown, the UK's Chancellor of the Exchequer on Monday ruled out Britain's entry into Europe's single currency for now. Brown announced the widely expected decision to British MPs in the House of Commons. Calling it "one of the most momentous economic decisions our country has to take," the UK finance minister said only one of five economic tests on euro membership had been met.
OSTEOPOROSIS-“The Silent Disease”
THE WORD “OSTEOPOROSIS” simply means “porous bones.” It is an age-related disease associated with a gradual thinning and weakening of the bones. This can lead to an increase in fractures, usually in the spine, hip or wrist. It basically has two root causes: not building enough bone in the first place and loss of bone later in life, generally from the decreased estrogen of menopause.
Hollywood Homicide
For director Ron Shelton, Hollywood Homicide represents a rare venture out of the sports-related movie field (he has made Bull Durham and Tin Cup amongst others), and one of his least successful outings behind the camera to-date. Considering all the hats Shelton wears for this movie (director, co-produced, co-writer), one has to credit him with Hollywood Homicide's handful of inspired moments: a surreal internal affairs interview of the protagonists, a car chase where K.C. frightens his unwilling passengers nearly to death, another chase in which Joe is forced to engage in pursuit on a girl's bicycle, and a helicopter traffic jam caused by aerial coverage of that chase. Unfortunately, the blame for the rest of the movie must also be laid at Shelton's feet. CONTINUE

Book Review - Sapphire's Push
By Stephen Earley Jordan, II

Stephen Jordan African American poet-turned-novelist, Sapphire, submerges the characters into a hell-filled-world called reality-(as seems to be a common theme from most of her previous work) in her novel Push. Taking place in Harlem, New York, Push permits us to see sixteen-year-old Precious Jones endlessly abused sexually by her father; abused sexually and mentally by her mother who severely beats Precious on the kitchen floor, where she instantly gives birth to her first child, who we later discover has Down's Syndrome. Tragically bearing her father's children at twelve years old and sixteen years old, Precious' cries appear to never be heard.

Living off of the "system" and satisfied with its contributions, Precious' mother attempts to persuade her to not attend an alternative school (since she was kicked out of her public school for being pregnant (and still in eighth grade at sixteen years old)) in view of the assumption that education supposedly won't do her any good. As Precious gains a new perspective of life, starts this new alternative school, befriends classmates (who've lived a similar life as Precious), and pursues her G.E.D. while raising her second child, she recognizes that life is in the hands of a Higher Being, and she has no control of her existence seeming to spiral downhill. In Da Kitchen w/ D
So it's Sunday, I am exhausted, I haven't gone food shopping in a while. I need to whip up something quickly. I see that I have no chicken breast but hey what's that? It's chicken legs. Well i guess it will be chicken legs and I am kinda tired of rice and beans so I decide to have starch of a different type--Boiled green bananas. And don't forget the roughage for ease when you go to sit on the throne to feel like a King or a Queen. So I do a steam cabbage dish as well. In no time I have whipped up dinner and here we have a meal. Now won't you join me in the Kitchen?
