‘Single Entry’
After making four attempts at the US Embassy in Kingston, two unemployed Jamaican women get single entry visas to the United States of America. Aston Cooke’s latest play, Single Entry, tackles the sensitive issues of multiple passports, false identifications, bogus visas and fake green cards. Single Entry plays at the Barn Theatre, Jamaica from July to September.
Single Entry is a hilarious Jamaican comedy set in present time. It looks at the creative efforts of two adventurous Jamaican women, to acquire US visas and the underground experiences they face as illegal aliens in America. Single Entry is a slice of Jamaican life that is spirited and tangy. Single Entry follows Cooke’s highly successful productions of Oliver at Large, Front Room, Children-Children, Country Duppy and Kiss Mi Neck.
Single Entry boasts an all-star cast of fine Jamaican actors led by 1995 best actress Deon Silvera and 2000 best supporting actress Terri Salmon. Veteran actor Paul Skeen and the fresh Jerry Benzwick complete the cast. Single Entry is directed by Michael (Stringbean) Nicholson of Royal Palm fame. Visit the picture trail.
